HHD Schedule 2024
Thank you for your interest in our High Holy Day observances this year! We have a variety of events lined up for the Days of Awe, which you can find below. All events are hybrid (in person at Beth Israel and streamed via Zoom) unless noted otherwise.

High Holy Day Observances - 2024
Selichot/Shabbat Service
Sat., September 28, 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children, but all are welcome to attend. We will gather for services and conversation in preparation for the High Holy Days. There will be contemplative moments to change the synagogue vestments.
Erev Rosh Hashanah Service
Wed., October 2, 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children, but all are welcome to attend.
Rosh Hashanah Family Service
Thurs., October 3, 9:30 am - 10:00 am
This service will be held in our downstairs social hall and is intended for younger children. This event will not be live-streamed.
Rosh Hashanah Day 1 Service
Thurs., October 3, 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children, but all are welcome to attend. Child care is available. Please plan to register for childcare downstairs anytime after 9:00 am if your child(ren) will be attending. This service will be directly followed by a tashlich and shofar program in Smedley Park.
Tashlich and Shofar Program in Smedley Park
Thurs., October 3, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us at Smedley Park for a Tashlich ritual and the sounding of the shofar. A light lunch will be provided. This event will not be live-streamed.
Rosh Hashanah Day 2 Service
Fri., October 4, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children. All are welcome to attend. We will integrate contemporary and traditional prayer approaches.
Shabbat Shuvah Service
Sat., October 5, 9:45 am - 11:00 am
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children. All are welcome to attend.
Erev Yom Kippur Service
Fri., October 11, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children. All are welcome to attend. We will integrate contemporary and traditional prayer approaches.
Yom Kippur Family Service
Sat., October 12, 9:30 am - 10:00 am
This service will be held in our downstairs social hall and is intended for younger children. This event will not be live-streamed.
Yom Kippur Morning Service
Sat., October 12, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children. All are welcome to attend, and child care is available. Please plan to register for childcare downstairs anytime after 9:00 am if your child(ren) will be attending. Yizkor is estimated to begin close to 12:45 pm.
Yom Kippur Afternoon Service
Sat., October 12, 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm
This service is intended for adults and more-mature children. All are welcome to attend. There will be a variety of activities, including drumming, meditation, a healing service, and more. This event will not be live-streamed, but the Neilah service will be.
Sukkah Structure Building
Sun., October 13, 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Join us in building our sukkah. This event is intended for adults and more-mature children. Time TBD. This event will not be live-streamed.
Sukkot/Shabbat Services
Fri., October 18, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The evening will begin with a catered dinner. Please RSVP here ($15/person). At 7:30 pm, our BI Rabbis will lead us in a Sukkot/Shabbat service.
Sukkah Decorating During Hebrew School
Sun., October 20, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Our Hebrew School will decorate our sukkah at 11:00 am and then have a pizza lunch at 12:00 pm. Please RSVP for lunch here ($5/person). This event will be held outside, weather permitting. This event will not be live-streamed.
Simchat Torah Celebration & Services
Wed., October 23, 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with dinner, provided by Beth Israel. Please RSVP here. Attendees are encouraged to bring drinks and desserts to share. Simchat Torah services will begin at 6:30 pm, and will be followed by dessert.
