History of Greening & Sustainability at BI
History of Greening & Sustainability at BI
Congregation Beth Israel has been involved in sustainability work at its current building since the early 2000’s. Our work to reduce energy use and emissions at our building has focused on lighting improvements, special upgrades to our HVAC system, improvements in the shell and space conditioning in our “Green House” on our property, and most recently, the installation of a 26 kW solar array on our synagogue roof that supplies our current electricity needs with clean electricity.

To read about Beth Israel’s planned next steps in its sustainability work, you can click here to see a brief summary of Beth Israel’s 2023 Climate Action Plan, including planned next steps. If you have any more questions about our sustainability efforts, or want to be involved in this work at Beth Israel, please email sustainability@bethisraelmedia.org.
