Early Childhood Programs

"May God turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents."

Mechina - Preschool Sunday program for children ages 3-5

Mechina, a Hebrew word that means to prepare, will give your child preparation for Hebrew School in the years to come. Our program offers your child meaningful experiences – learning through play and arts, songs and stories, in a warm and accepting environment with friends and community.

During the year, we will explore Havdalah, Shabbat, and the holidays celebrated in the Jewish calendar.  We sing, read stories, complete art projects, snack and play.  Each week we have a short Havdalah service to celebrate the beginning of the new week.  Each week we also learn a piece of the Hebrew phrase Shabbat Shalom- by the end of the year we will know the whole phrase in Hebrew!

The Mechina class is also a fantastic opportunity for families to explore our congregation, and discover what an accepting, loving, musical, and conscientious place our community can be!
