Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition
Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition
Congregation Beth Israel signed on to be a member of the Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition in January, 2023, and the coalition now has nearly 300 member organizations. The plan invites members to identify actions they have already taken to reduce GHG emissions in a variety of areas (e.g. renewable energy generation, fuel switching, efficiency improvements) and to identify future steps in this area.
We are proud of the sustainability work we have been engaging in here at Beth Israel since the early 2000’s, and we look forward to continuing to move forward in this work in the years to come. After halving our carbon emissions in the last 15 years at the synagogue and most recently consuming clean electricity through the installation of a 26 kW solar array, we are optimistic about our potential to continue to make strides toward sustainability in the future!
