MLK Mad Hatters’ Hats for Hope Service Project
Monday, January 20, 2020 • 23 Tevet 5780
1:00 PM - 3:00 PMOur annual gathering to knit and crochet hats for those in need will take place on Martin Luther King Day; Monday, January 20, 2019, from 1 to 3 PM. Easy patterns & basic instruction will be available; snacks and drinks will be provided. Hat-making continues year-round, but this is our group session. Ideas for other knitting and crocheting projects will be entertained. Hundreds of hats have been made since this project started almost 9 years ago. Warm hats have been donated to various agencies, including Back on My Feet (BOMF), Cradles to Crayons, Chester Eastside, City Team, HIAS, a hospital for women undergoing chemotherapy, and STAP (Second Time Around Parents), . For more information please contact Elaine Wasekanes at 610-237-8269 (home); on the day of the event call 610-608-7426 (cell); or send a message to catwasekanes@yahoo.com, or Judy Kinman (jkinman125@gmail.com). If you know of people outside of Beth Israel who would like to join us, they may register for this event at MLKdayofservice.org.
