Rummage Sale Success
Rummage Sale Success
Thanks to the amazing “village” that is Congregation Beth Israel, we raised $3653.55 for our community! This number will increase a bit because there are a few more things to be sold.
A special thanks to Sunday's “worker bees”, Jackie Northime, Alisa Herman-Liu, and Lauri Mansky for organizing and coordinating our bake table. John Greenstine, Alex Dresner, Jennifer Lenway, Sharon Kleban, Wendy Waterston, Deb Wile, Nancy Burlan, Michael Fishkow, Natalie Finkelman, Lucas Bennett, Elaine Feldman, Kathy Fink, Jean Fleschute, Susan Klein, Stuart Pittel, Lois Deutsch, Judy Kinman, Laura Lee Blechner, Chris Pragman, Eleanor Skale, Theresa Citrenbaum (who with her son, Jake, also collected a car full of clothing for the spring clothing drive!), and anyone else who may have humbly, apologetically been forgotten.
A special shout out to Joe Deutsch and Lynn Cashell without whom any of this would have been possible. Joe works tirelessly behind the scenes months before the sale gathering items from people’s houses, and selling the “more better” stuff for BI at his flea markets so we can earn a larger profit. His expertise in the value of many items is invaluable! The sale also couldn't happen without Lynn's organization and communication. Much appreciation to Keith and Carolyn for clearing the sanctuary, moving all those tables, and then cleaning up afterward, putting our beautiful sanctuary back into order.
One of the favorite sentences of the day was, "How can I help?” uttered by more than one member who came to work. Thank you is never a large enough sentiment to cover the incredible gratitude to everyone who donated items, schlepped them from the house, organized them in the sanctuary, priced the items, sold the items, bought the items, and helped pack up the remaining ones.
