High Holy Days 2025 Highlights for Young Families
High Holidays Highlights for Young Families (2025)
Thank you for your interest in our High Holy Day events this year! The below events may be especially friendly (or accommodating) for families with younger and/or teen children.
Child care will be offered during Rosh Hashanah Day 1 (9/23 at 10:00 am) and Yom Kippur morning (10/2 at 10:00 am) services. Please plan to register for childcare downstairs anytime after 9:00 am if your child(ren) will be attending. If you have any questions, please contact our Office Manager.
Child-Friendly High Holy Day Observances - 2024
"Welcome Back" Shabbat Celebration
Fri., September 12, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The evening will begin with Tot Shabbat at 5:45 pm - click here for more information. At 6:30 pm, we will have a catered dinner. Please RSVP here. At 7:30 pm, our BI Rabbis will lead us in a Shabbat evening service.
Rosh Hashanah Family Service
Tues., September 23, 9:30 am - 10:00 am
This service will be held in our downstairs social hall and is intended for younger children. This event will not be live-streamed.
Tashlich and Shofar Program in Smedley Park
Tues., September 23, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join us at Smedley Park for a Tashlich ritual and the sounding of the shofar. A light lunch will be provided. This event will not be live-streamed.
Yom Kippur Family Service
Thurs., October 2, 9:30 am - 10:00 am
This service will be held in our downstairs social hall and is intended for younger children. This event will not be live-streamed.
Sukkah Decorating During Hebrew School
Sun., October 5, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Our Hebrew School will decorate our sukkah and then have a pizza lunch at 12:00 pm. Please RSVP for lunch here ($5/person). This event will be held outside, weather permitting. This event will not be live-streamed.
Simchat Torah Celebration & Services
Wed., October 23, 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with dinner, provided by Beth Israel. Please RSVP here. Attendees are encouraged to bring drinks and desserts to share. Simchat Torah services will begin at 5:30 pm and will be followed by dessert.
