Eliana Andersen Arts & Creativity Festival-2017
Eliana Andersen Arts & Creativity Festival-2017
Congregation Beth Israel of Media established an annual festival to honor the memory and life of ELIANA ANDERSEN, daughter of Kathy Silberman Andersen and Dan Andersen, sister of Molly, and granddaughter of the late Ruth and Alexander Silberman. Ellie, a beloved fifth grader in our Hebrew School, died on July 25, 2003 after a courageous battle with a brain tumor.
Ellie loved school, her friends and family, and celebrations of all kinds. By combining Ellie’s loves in a festival of the arts, we give our children (and adults) a joyous event to look forward to each year, as well as reflect the Jewish tradition of “hiddur mitzvah,” enhancing community by creating beauty and art.
Please enjoy the photos below and explore the links at the bottom. This year, we also had the benefit of a wonderful article, written by Rachel Kurland, in the January 16, 2017 issue of The Jewish Exponent. Click here to read the article.
The fun lives on. Click to enlarge.
