Rabbi Linda's Blog: Why is This Passover Different From All Other Passovers?
April 2025
The answer to my title question is that it is not completely different. On all other Passovers there are trials and tribulations in the world and in our own lives, just as there are now. Some years we feel them more acutely. But when the 15th of Nisan comes along and we sit down to seder, we enter our ancient story seeking inspiration, no matter what narrow places we find ourselves and our world.
How might the rituals of the Pesach seder invigorate you this April?
Pesach is about connecting, both with...
Tot Shabbat is Going Strong
Since last fall we’ve met on the 2nd Friday of every month for Tot Shabbat, a program where we come together with young families to color, play, tell stories, schmooze, eat, sing, and celebrate Shabbat together as a community. Over the past 6 months we’ve had 30 families participate, with about 5‐7 families per month.
Many thanks to our volunteers and our rabbinic interns, who make it all possible: Jackie Gelman, Lynn Cashell, Lev DePaolo, Elaine Feldman, Alisa Herman‐Liu, Lydia Kendis, Randi Raskin Nash, Alan Ross, Kathy Trow, and, of course, Rabbi Nathan and Rabbi Linda.
If you’d like to attend or help out at a future Tot Shabbat please reach out to Jackie Gelman.
Upcoming dates: 4/11, 5/9

Rabbi's Note
April 2025
Friends, as we prepare to gather for Pesah, I would like to invite us to remember how the liberation we celebrate is not just from a snapshot in the past; rather, it is a continuous and ongoing process where we are seeking to become liberated from the patterns and behaviors that hold us back from becoming our fullest selves as we also address the many crises of enslavement and oppression that continue to plague the world around us. May we enter this season of liberation with courage, strength, and resolve, remembering that one person does have the capacity to change the course of the universe for the better. May it be so! A sweet and liberating Passover to all!
